WANDA MACK ADAMS

Mrs. Adams was drawn to activism as a young woman in 1994 with two children active in their school community activities. It was the encouragement of her children Eric and Sirnique to join those serving the Dallas Metroplex areas. 

Mrs. Adams is a native of Dallas, married to Johnny Adams, an Army veteran, and a retiree of the City of Dallas. Between both, they have 5 children and 5 grandchildren. She is a born-again believer in Christ Jesus and serves with her husband at College Park Baptist Church in Dallas, TX. She has one living sibling, and both parents are deceased. She is an alumna of Dallas Baptist University, earning her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Mrs. Adams’s professional career has been in finance and accounting for the past 30 yrs. However, her interest changed in 1999 toward Christian Chaplaincy. This passion led her to become a certified volunteer chaplain volunteering for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Her assignments were with Jesse R. Dawson State Jail and Lew Sterrett Dallas County Jail, both in the city of Dallas, teaching bible studies and life skill classes for women inmates. Mrs. Adams has continued her studies with Criswell College, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary pursuing a Master of Divinity Chaplaincy degree focused “on criminal justice.”

Throughout her adult life, Mrs. Adams has always invested time and energy in enormous communities, listening to people’s needs and wants and servicing those requests through collaborating with organizations that could supply those services. She moved to Balch Springs in 2007 when she married Mr. Adams, a current resident and faithful volunteer. She is committed to supporting the growth and development of our city.
